Its main purpose is to ensure the library effectively supports the institution's or organization's needs by providing resources, services and a conducive environment for learning and research.
Policy Formulation and Implementation
Developing and implementing library policies related to collection development, resource allocation, user access, and library conduct. Ensuring the library's policies align with the institution's overall mission and goals.
Resource Management
Overseeing the library's budget and financial resources. Making decisions about acquisition and disposal of materials. Ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
User Services and Support
Monitoring and improving services. Supporting users in accessing resources. Addressing user feedback and complaints.
Communication and Liaison
Acting as a channel between users, administration, and promoting the library to the academic community.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Evaluating service effectiveness. Conducting regular assessments of the collection and resources.
Strategic Planning
Developing long-term plans. Adapting to changing technologies and evolving user needs.
